Treatment Approaches
Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy
With CBT, we'll examine the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. In our first session, we'll explore the reasons behind your seeking therapy and determine the most appropriate ways to support your progress. Throughout treatment, I'll assist you in recognizing and challenging negative or unhelpful thoughts that contribute to distress or unhealthy behaviors. Together, we'll develop practical strategies to replace those thoughts with more balanced and realistic ones, ultimately leading to positive changes in your emotions and overall well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
In motivational interviewing, our focus is on exploring and resolving ambivalence to enhance your internal motivation for change. During our initial session, we'll discuss what led you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. Throughout treatment, I'll work collaboratively with you, providing a supportive and non-judgmental space to help you clarify your goals, identify barriers, and strengthen your commitment to making positive changes in your life.
Narrative Therapy
Using narrative therapy, we'll delve into the stories you tell yourself and how they shape your perception of yourself and your experiences. In our initial session, we'll explore the factors that brought you to therapy and determine the most suitable ways to assist you. Throughout our work together, I'll help you externalize and separate the problems from your identity, empowering you to view them as separate entities. Through this process, we'll identify your strengths, challenge dominant narratives, and co-create new, more empowering stories that align with your values and aspirations.
